Week#15

Using Audio Podcasts to Enhance Learning on Prezi

Week#14 This class session we were able to work on our final presentation. My presentation is on how audio podcasts help enhance learning. My main points are what are audio podcasts, what types of podcasts, audio podcast and education, podcasts and ELL students, and educational podcast websites. I will be presenting it through prezi. It is my first time to use this website so I am learning slowly how to use it. It's kind of difficult. But it's a really great website to use.

Week#13
Weebly Project

1. Description of assignment
     The assignment was to create a weebly website. The title of our weekly is Portfolio of (your name). We included information about ourselves, our education, our experiences in education, our hobbies and interests, our references, and a link to our blog. We also included pictures.
2. What did you like about weebly?
     I think its a very good website that can be used for different things. Two of my other teachers currently use this website to post assignments and rubrics. Its very helpful. This is a great site and its easy to use.
3. What were the challenges?
     I think the challenge was just setting up. Once your on it everything else is all right.
4. How would you rate this site on a scale of 1-10
    I would rate this site with a 10.
5. What other activities/assignments could you use for this site?
     I think this would be good to use as teacher. A teacher can use this as a portfolio of themselves and also put things that are going on in their classroom. Parents can be able to go online and see what is going on with their children's classwork and assignments.

Week #10-12 imovie

Week#12 iMovies commercial

1. Describe the assignment given.

     We were put into groups of 3 or 4 people. We were to come up with some form of educational technology and create an infomercial. We used flip cams to video ourselves and we used the i-movie software on the Macs to edit and add special features to our infomercial. 

2. Describe the challenges of working with the flips cams in creating your commercials. What went well?What were the challenges?

     They weren't that challenging to work with. They were very easy and convenient to use. It is good at recording sound and picture.  We were able to take many different shots. The flip cams were simple and a great tool to use for this activity. 

3. What features did you use to enhance your i-movie and would you have done anything differently?

        We used transitioning features, music, title pages, ending pages. I would have explored more of the features on imovie and try to learn to use all the different features. 

4. Rate the i-movie software 1-10. Why?

       I would give it a 9 because it has great features that are easy to use. They can really enhance you movie and make it great. I don't give it a ten because I am not familiar with macs so it can make it confusing and a little harder to use. s

5. How would you use i-movie and flip cams in your future classroom? Explain

     I think this would be a great tool for language arts. THe students can create plays or short skits that deals with a story we might be covering. Or in economics they could make a infomercial to try and sell something. In science they could film themselves doing a science demo or a presentation on a particular science project. In math, they can create a movie that teaches a certain topic of math. I think I could incorporate the use of i-movie into most subject areas. This would be a great a fun tool for kids. I think they would enjoy this type of activities very much. d
