1. Describe the assignment given.
We were put into groups of 3 or 4 people. We were to come up with some form of educational technology and create an infomercial. We used flip cams to video ourselves and we used the i-movie software on the Macs to edit and add special features to our infomercial.
2. Describe the challenges of working with the flips cams in creating your commercials. What went well?What were the challenges?
They weren't that challenging to work with. They were very easy and convenient to use. It is good at recording sound and picture. We were able to take many different shots. The flip cams were simple and a great tool to use for this activity.
3. What features did you use to enhance your i-movie and would you have done anything differently?
We used transitioning features, music, title pages, ending pages. I would have explored more of the features on imovie and try to learn to use all the different features.
4. Rate the i-movie software 1-10. Why?
I would give it a 9 because it has great features that are easy to use. They can really enhance you movie and make it great. I don't give it a ten because I am not familiar with macs so it can make it confusing and a little harder to use. s
5. How would you use i-movie and flip cams in your future classroom? Explain
I think this would be a great tool for language arts. THe students can create plays or short skits that deals with a story we might be covering. Or in economics they could make a infomercial to try and sell something. In science they could film themselves doing a science demo or a presentation on a particular science project. In math, they can create a movie that teaches a certain topic of math. I think I could incorporate the use of i-movie into most subject areas. This would be a great a fun tool for kids. I think they would enjoy this type of activities very much. d
